The AIEP team is comprised of caring and professional individuals with years of experience in the international homestay industry.  With both English and Mandarin-speaking support staff, our students, parents and schools receive the support they need to facilitate success.  Additionally, we have dedicated staff in both the U.S. and China to ensure our clients receive outstanding and timely responses to their individual needs.

As a Local Coordinator Supervisor,  Daisy manages a team of 10 Local Coordinators who oversee families in Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, and New Jersey. She plans and implements webinar trainings and Host Parent Orientations, and helps support relationships with our partner schools.

While working with AIEP, Daisy has enjoyed learning about the Chinese culture and traditions, and discovering the similarities between American and Chinese teenagers.

Daisy enjoys working for a company that fosters a sense of community, and provides their employees with opportunities for growth; AIEP cares for their employees and their families.

On a personal note, Daisy is a mother to 3 adult children, and a grandmother to 3 beautiful grandchildren. She is also a host parent for AIEP and enjoys the experience with her host students. In her free time, Daisy enjoys cleaning her house, listening to music, and watching Disney movies with her grandchildren.

As a Local Coordinator, Sharon works to recruit, interview, and screen new host families interested in hosting a student. She maintains regular communication with the participating schools as well as the students.

Her favorite part of the job is being able to create a relationship with the host families, schools, and students.

Previously, Sharon worked for almost 20 years with a cultural exchange program working directly with host families all over the country. She has seen firsthand how being exposed to different cultures has a positive and lasting influence on everyone involved.

Sharon has a degree in Elementary Education and was a substitute teacher and taught preschool for several years.

Sharon is married and has 1 daughter and a cat. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, Broadway musicals and watching American football.

As a Local Coordinator, Sandy is responsible for recruiting families who might consider becoming host families in NJ, PA, and MD.  She explains the program to families during the interview and screening process. Host families always have lots of questions and it is Sandy’s job as a Local Coordinator to answer these questions. Educating our families about hosting is an important part of our program’s success.

Sandy has been working with families in many ways over the years.  Sandy owned her own daycare business for 25 years.   She retired to embark on a career in cultural exchange. For the past 5 years, Sandy has worked as an au pair consultant and a high school exchange coordinator.  Sandy finds it exciting to bring families and amazing students together from around the world.

Sandy’s favorite part of her job is building relationships with her families and students.   She loves the holidays when she receives calls and messages from all over the world from her exchange family.

 Sandy and her family live in New Jersey.  She has three grown children who have experienced international travel and exchange as well.  Sandy enjoys going to the beach, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family.

As a Local Coordinator, with many years of experience in the education field, Carol evaluates and resolves student’s inquiries, issues, and problems. She also ensures appropriate actions were implemented to the satisfaction of students and parents. Carol works closely with schools and has a good relationship with host families. She enjoys interacting with her students and helping them adapt to life in America.

Carol is a mother of 2 daughters and loves to go hiking and traveling with her family.

As a Student Coordinator, Lily works with local coordinators and serves the students and their parents to gain a satisfying experience throughout the AIEP program.

Lily graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism in China and a Master’s degree in Communication in Florida. Her passion for student affairs can be traced back to her college time. She worked as a Marketing and Recruitment Assistant with Chinese students for more than one year and found her career path in the field of educations and international student affairs. The students she has worked with turn out to succeed academically, socially, and culturally.

Lily is actively involved with community activities and committed to CrossFit. New things make her excited and she likes to challenge herself. Out of the office, she is a low productive photographer and documentary filmmaker.

As a Student Coordinator, Leona loves communicating with students and host families. She is originally from Shanghai, China. Leona has many years of experience as a school teacher, international student advisor, and educational consultant.

Leona is passionate about international student programs because she has seen the dramatic positive effects in her life and the lives of her students and their families. She has an energetic and positive personality and many hobbies.

Leona loves sports- soccer, tennis, and basketball. In her free time, she likes playing the piano and watching movies with her family. Leona loves to travel and to learn the differences of other cultures. She is actively involved in serving her church and community, which further enriches her life.

As a Student Coordinator, Wansu enjoys building a bridge of communication among students, parents, schools, and AIEP. She has a background as an educator and as a professional translator. She is fluent in Mandarin and English which makes it very easy for our students and natural parents.

Wansu’s favorite part of the job is conversing with students and learning about their hopes and dreams. She is proud to be part of a team that helps the students achieve their goals.

In her free time, Wansu loves swimming, music, and theater.

As a Student Coordinator, James works with local partnered schools, host families, and other coordinators to provide students and their parents with great experiences throughout the AIEP program.

James earned a Bachelor’s degree and then a Master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. James’s favorite part of his job is that he gets to help students on a daily basis with his own experience of efficiently keeping the balance between school work and personal life during his four years in Chapel Hill.

James is very easygoing and always ready to start a new adventure. In his free time, James loves playing and watching sports, singing, cooking, traveling, and looks forward to meeting new people and making friends all the time. In fact, James tries to learn something useful from others and hence keep improving himself both personally and professionally every single day.
